Brain-Machines

The BRAIN-MACHINE comes in 2 varieties: SOLO and DUO. The DUO is a unit similar to the SOLO but is designed for use by two people together.

It runs from a 9-volt battery so there is no mains power involved and no danger of a shock.

2 small metal discs wrapped in damp tissue are placed on the head, usually one at the forehead and one at the back of the head (although some people prefer one behind each ear).

These discs are held in place by an adjustable headband.

The effect is so gentle that on one of our many TV appearances (BBC 'Horizon') none of the four volunteers could tell whether the BRAIN-MACHINE was 'on' or not. But after 5 minutes with it 'on', they were all in a state of very deep meditation!

They all reckoned it would take an Indian Yogi 20 years of practice to achieve the state of consciousness which they reached in just 5 minutes with the Brain-Machine. None of them wanted to stop. It is a very pleasant experience, but you can take the machine off at any time.

It works by 'entrainment': this means that weak electronically - generated pulses very gently persuade (not force) the brainwaves into a frequency range conducive of 'PROGRESSIVE RELAXATION'. The result is that it can help to bring about a state of very deep relaxation. Following this, the mind usually feels very refreshed and stimulated, so that mental tasks seem easier, and inspirations may flow more freely.

DUO BRAIN-MACHINE

When two people use this simultaneously, their brainwaves tend to become synchronised to each other so that they share the experience and meditate together. This can be great as a shared experience and may increase the 'togetherness' of couples.

It can also be used for experiments in telepathy - when two people's brainwave are synchronised in this fashion, they often develop a form of 'rapport' for each other and this can take the form of telepathic experience. By deliberate training, this rapport can be made to extend beyond the time at which the DUO BRAIN-MACHINE is in use.

EPILEPSY

The lower frequencies are reputed to be helpful, but due to the complexity of the situation, we do not recommend use of this equipment by anyone prone to epilepsy, or by anyone who is psychologically or mentally unstable, or under the influence of drugs - or a frequent taker of drugs. The makers and distributors of No1derland equipment cannot be held responsible for any consequences of its experimental use.

1.	It runs from a 9-volt radio battery so there is no mains power involved and no danger of an electric shock.
2.	Two small metal discs wrapped in damp tissue are placed on the head, usually one at the forehead and one at the back of the head - although some people prefer one behind each ear. These are held in place by an adjustable headband.
3.	Fit the elastic headband so that it is firm but not too tight.
4.	Wrap each of the small metal discs in a few layers of tissue, moistened in salty water. A little glycerine may be added to the water to keep it from drying out if you want to use it for a long time.
5.	Each metal disc is attached to a coloured wire. They can be used any way around. Fit one disc under the headband so it rests in the middle of the forehead, with the wire coming out at the top.
6.	Fit the other disc under the headband at the back of the head, also with the wire coming out at the top. It may be necessary to rub a small amount of the salty water into the scalp at this point to ensure a good contact.
7.	Set the frequency control to low ALPHA to begin.
8.	Connect a 9-volt battery to the battery connector - the BRAIN-MACHINE will now start to operate. Usually nothing is felt or noticed, though for some people a gentle flickering effect is noticed.
9.	Make yourself comfortable, close your eyes, relax and enjoy.
10.	As you become more relaxed, turn the frequency control to a lower frequency. When you find a frequency that suits you personally, leave it at that for a while, but feel free to change it from time to time. Many people like a frequency in the THETAregion, but there is the option to go lower.
11.	It is generally safe to use the CES SOLO for long periods of time. I actually hide mine under a hat and walk down the street with it on ! An interesting experience ! But do not use it whilst driving a vehicle, operating machinery or any similar activity where concentration and alertness are very important. The effects, though subtle, are powerful.
12.	Although you can discontinue the unit at any moment, by removing the discs from under the headband and taking off the battery, many people prefer to bring the frequency gradually up to the BETA level first, as this gives a state of increased alertness after the meditation.
13.	After use, make sure that the wires are wrapped up carefully and kept separate to avoid tangles. Remove the damp tissue and keep the BRAIN-MACHINE carefully for its next use.
14.	The DUO BRAIN-MACHINE works just like the SOLO except that a second person can use it at the same time. Each person has one wire of each colour, and for synchronisation, the same colour should be at the front of each person's head.
15.	Relax together and enjoy, but if one person needs to stop before the other, they can simply remove the discs and headband, leaving the other person to use the DUO BRAIN-MACHINE alone. Take care not to leave the discs touching each other and wrap the wires up carefully to avoid tangles after use.

The 'DUO-PLUS' is an improved version of the DUO BRAIN-MACHINE, and has the following added features:

1.	Built in a larger case with battery compartment included, and control-panel.
2.	Outputs via 3.5mm jacks for headbands.
3.	2 sets of headbands included in the price.
4.	Built-in sound. A very quiet sound is available from the box itself, and can be used for subliminal entrainment, even without using a headband, or heard through walkman-type headphones (not included), or the sound can be boosted with an amplifier to make it loud for group use etc.
5.	There are three amplitude controls, for the sound and the two headband outputs.
